I have a 1974 F engine that I am replacing the piston rings and rod bearings on with the engine in the chassis. With the pan off I can look up and see the camshaft lobes.
How much pitting and wear is acceptable on the lobes before you have to replace the cam & lifters? If I reach up there and feel the lobes with my fingertip you can feel a little pitting and roughness.
