My wife and I are planning a trip out to Colorado and Utah in August. We have an overnight permit for White Crack camp on the White Rim Road. Down here in south Ga I've never really found the need to carry extra fuel, but I'm wondering if I will need to carry any for the WRR? If I fill up before heading in to the park would that be enough to get me through and back out? I know a lot of you guys have experience with this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You should be good without it. White Rim is only 71 miles long and its 32.5 from Moab to Island in the Sky and 39.4 from Mineral Bottom Road to Moab.

Ditto what Smoothlc said: did it in my 60, loaded for bear (4 people/water/camping stuff/10g extra gas). Note that my loaded 60 gets about 11mpg hwy, 7 mpg offroad....did not need to use spare gas.

NOTE: 1 night on that trail is way too little. If you really want to enjoy it, plan on at least 2 nights at different designated camp spots (we did 3 nights w. 2 days/spot). Too much good stuff to see.
