I remember seeing flowmaster came out w/ a new diamond plated offroad muffler that Jesse Combs put on the FJ60 rockcrawler buildup. I don't know if it was thicker walled but it sure did look stout, stainless steel too. Check Flowmaster's website.

jmarsh1977 said:To clarify, I was talking about Jessi Combs on Xtreme 4x4 on Spike TV. They have a Saggin Wagon FJ60 project that used a offroad spec flowmaster muffler. I checked the Xtreme 4x4 website and they don't have the flowmaster muffler listed in their episodes/product links. I emailed them and will post if I get anything back.
I have a home-made exhaust omy '88 from a muffler shop(flowmaster). The pipes are loud. However, I have had to repair several spots the last year or 2. A new oem exhaust was quoted to me from a toyota shop for like $1300. Prolly because of the catalytic converters etc. Ya not going to spend that . Good luckI am planning to get a tune up in the very near future and I am also in need of a new exhaust system. What have you folks done with your systems? I am debating whether to go to a muffler shop and get it done by them or purchasing an OEM system. Are there any pros and cons to an aftermarket exhaust system to an OEM? Please let me know what you think. Also pictures would be helpful. Thanks!
