[FONT=Verdana, Arial]Good thing I was close to home when this popped off because it sounded like I had 20 coffee cans rigged to the exhaust. Any suggestions on quick fixes so I can at least drive it to the muffler shop?

That is very common. There's supposed to be a bracket on that bolt at the bellhousing in your picture that supports the exhaust so that doesn't happen.

Time for a header and a custom-bent 2-1/4" exhaust!

quick fix?
sure. drink a pint of yer favorite beer.
when yer done, take the can and cut the ends off. slice it down the side. slip it over the pipes.
use two hose clamps to secure it to the pipes.
done, and done!

yea its a pain in the a** fix but I managed to smear some muffler cement around it and clamped it until I can get it to the muffler shop

lol, you would have thought the boys at Toyota would have at least thought of that when the truck was being built.

no doubt. there is a bracket, yours is missing. but i think they should have installed a flex pipe.

hmm, mine is missing, I wonder if it rusted off or the job has been done before??

well it probly didnt rust off it was probly removed.
it is clamped on to the pipe with a regular pipe clamp, and the other end is bolted right where you can see the bolt and empty hole in yer pic.
if the rest of your exhast system is in good shpe. i.e. no broken joints/pipes, and yor hangars are not broken, the head pipe should last for a long time.

so check this out,
my truck had blown out the donuts from the manifold to the head pipe.
it was reeeeeealy loud. you know what i mean.
so i went down to NAPA and got some new gaskets. i had driven it around for a week, and still didnt fix it. (no time) and i ended up in this big city, getting parts for my VW.
i see a cop pass me. he hears me and turns around to pull me over.
he says, your exhaust is too loud and im gonna have to write you a ticket.
i say, im sorry its so loud sir. it just happened. i came into town to get the parts to fix it. i grabbed the gaskets, they were right there, next to me. i showed em and said, look, i just the parts to fix it, and im on my way home to fix it.
he was like, oh, ok then. take care of it.
no ticket. woo hoo!

so if your gonna procrastinate, but some parts so it looks like yer tring to fix it. :D

A lot of times they got lost or tossed when the clutch is getting swapped.
