European HJ60 new to me, need a turbo kit (1 Viewer)

Hi all…

Brit here working in the Nordics, just picked up a HJ60 high roof five speed whilst browsing the local ads..she has 220,000 kilometres (160,000 miles approx) and was renovated in 2017, thought I’d share on here..

I know she looks like a HJ62 with the twin headlights, but apparently they never used that naming feature in Europe, and it’s VIN PLATE reads HJ60 LG-MNGZW

I need a turbo kit for a LHD, anybody got any links ?

I think your biggest issue will be finding a turbo exhaust manifold, they are hard to find for a 2H these days.
Might be worth searching for one on the Aussie websites.

Hi dmjay, i was trying to find a kit for a left hand drive truck like mine, all the Aussie truck kits are for Right hand drive that have plenty of space around the manifold. Most of the left hand trucks the turbo is mounted high, just below the hood/bonnet....
 
Winks supplied and shipped to me in the states. I have a LHD HJ61 so it was pretty much a straight swap for the stock CT26 with some minor fit up. Prior to that I put in a 3” sst exhaust.
 
There is no such thing as an HJ62 and the model code has nothing to do with the type of headlights.
 
Do you really need a turbo kit? Have you baselined all the usual suspects and given this engine a chance to perform at its best?
 
I mean I have to mix it in the city traffic unfortunately in chapters of life, I just stay in the slow lane and ignore the nobs. The aggressive tail gating, hard braking, fast take off at traffic lights to stop again in a 100m, weaving in and out of traffic is not what a cruiser is built for. I swear that the majority of humanity besides those on mud are fn idiots!
 
yes everyones in a hurry to total their cars,
but to be sure, a turbo doesnt make these trucks do anything in a hurry, mine sure doesnt, it just makes me smile more on the trails

Probably don’t need one but I want one, I intend to drive her all over Europe, just think she needs a bit more ooomph to keep up with highway speeds, the many you tube videos I’ve watched all say that it’s a game changer, I want a piece of the action..she’s only done a traceable 220,000 kilometres and the engine bay looks honest, ie it’s not been steam cleaned to death to sell, in Sweden there is a website that tells the odometer readings at every vehicle inspection so it’s an honest “ mileage”
Just need to find a kit from OZ that suits a left hooker…
 
Search google for GTurbo and Winks turbo and you will understand.

High roof and ambulance doors! I’d body swap with you in a minute!! I tend to agree with the Winks turbo idea. German based and very technically well done. 7-10 lbs boost should be easy for the 2H to manage from what I’ve read. Try Maarten @ Cruiserworld.eu for manifold. He is my favourite source on your side of the Atlantic. It’s just that he is currently relocating to Hungary so will be mid-February before he is settled I think.
