I was talking to a fellow UZJ-100 owner today and he mentioned that he got a postcard in the mail regarding the following:

Toyota Electronic Throttle Control System (“ETCS”) & Sudden Acceleration Economic Loss Class Action Settlement – In Re Toyota Motor Corp. Unintended Acceleration Marketing Sales Practices and Products Liability Litigation

The postcard he received even referenced the last 4 digits of his VIN#... and lo and behold look what is on the list:

  • Toyota Land Cruiser 1998-2010

I was not aware that there was ANY issue whatsoever with unintended acceleration on the UZJ-100. Is this just a catch-all / fishing expedition or were there actually cases of unintended acceleration with the UZJ-100?

The last time I was at my local Dealership for service, I noticed on my invoice a tech section on it. Advised to check fit of floor mats and to make sure they did not bunch up at pedals.

Got one as well.

Got one too but I also own a Tundra and an Rx 330

I bought mine used , so i might not get one . But i dont care i love my LC. I would dump it in trash anyway

Why in the world would you throw $125 away?

mats are a potential concern but never understood why someone did not just reach down and pull the mats if they bunched up.

the unintended acceleration from vehicle electronics was total BS....sampling of black boxes showed the drivers hit the gas instead of the brake EVERY TIME in the panic of the situation.

I received a check for $29.23 in the mail today regarding the Unintended Acceleration Settlement. It does not specify which vehicle it is for, which is kind of confusing as I have two LCs that appear to fall under this settlement. There is more information at www.ToyotaELsettlement.com Does anyone know if there ever has been a case involving unintentional acceleration with a 100 series LC or LX470?

My wife told me that we got the check for $29 today as well. I only own the LX at the moment.

Got mine about 2 weeks ago.

I received a check yesterday for $58.46 related to this.

Got my $29 check today. I assume it's for the 2008 Lexus I had from 2008-2011. I don't think my 2000 is part of the class action.

My letter stated that I was identified as eligible but did not file a claim. Says my check for $8.76 represents my portion of the remaining settlement fund. Miller time I suppose.

Had to be for the LC as the RX is registered to my wife. The RX has had four recalls. Last time they replaced both headlights because of moisture inside the housing. I like freebies like that.
