How should I pull the engine from my 60? I've heard that with transfer/tranny is easier.... but I'd rather not.

Anyone just pull an engine? Any thoughts or advise?

PS. I've pulled about 5 of these with everything attached.. never the engine alone.

You can pull the motor/clutch/bellhousing and leave the tranny transfer in place. I still think I'd pull the whole thing, but you don't have do do that if you don't want.

last 2 I did I just pulled the engine, left the trans on the mount then lowered the trans.

Break it loose at the transmission. When you reinstall, make you some threaded studs (2) that you can put in the bell housing hand tight so that you will have something to guide you.

good call... thanks.

Well the plans may have changed. I bought this truck to flip to a canadian. When I brought it home... wife says "I want that". Don't know bout you guys, but that kinda turns me on.

Fast forward a few days. I've located a rebuilt, desmogged 2f and a complete 89 Rebuilt 3FE. My wife doesn't know manual drive, would like an automatic.

I'm in the processs of figuring out if this is possible. If so I'll snag up the 3FE. If not I'll teach my wife manual shift.

Here's a picture of some progress... ready to rip the engine/tran/transfer out if auto, Engine if manual.

Cheers
