Wondering if it would be worth it to swap from my 3.0 to a 3.4 in my 94 4Runner. Will it bolt up to the existing tranny. Considered an 8 cylinder but would need to swap the drive train as well. I'm on a low budget but would like more power for pulling a trailer and wheeling of course. I have limited time for research.
What say all you Master Cruisers? :grinpimp:

3.4 bolts to the 3.0 trans and motor mounts.
minor exhaust work and a few wires and you have nearly double the HP.

a 3.4 would make your runner sick tom.

I have a source for a 3.4 rear sump engine, engine wire harness, and ECU, it might be an Auto ECU though. My expereince is you can use an auto ECU in a manual tranny rig but not the other way(depending on what you got), although Aric can probably confirm or deny that for sure. I can get it for cheap, probably under 700, all the little stuff too, it's got 248k on the clock though. If 700 isn't doable let me know what is and I'll see what can be done. The guy who has it owes me and would be re-paying a debt...I'd be trying to make some money back for that (long story regarding the landcruiser :frown:). If you're serious let me know and I can make sure it's all still there, it's been about a week since I've been there and who know's what could have happened in that time......D

Thanks for the info. I'm checking on sources. Maybe before the first snow run my Runner will be "sick" :D Will check with you Gnob later about the exhaust mod and wiring you mentioned.
