the easiest would probably be a 2H with an aftermarket turbo. Since 60 series cruisers were offered in with these motors (HJ60) in canada, parts would not be too terrible to find and it would be a pretty straight forward swap. 13B-T are a good option to as they are already turbocharged. The 1HZs, 1HD-FTs, 1HD-Ts, 12HTs etc. are awesome motors as well but they can be expansive and parts harder to find.

i think what youre looking 4 is the ihd diesel 4.2 liter 24valve turbo 170hp@3600rpm 280ft.lbs.@2500rpm thats my opinion brother but you know what they say about opp.

When I was looking for a diesel, the 1HZ seemed to be the most common and best value. I know it's not a turbo, but at least it made it over to this continent. I think 70 series are still being sold with them in Central and South America. 13BT's seemed more common also.

I think the 1HD-T is very similar to the 1HZ only with an DI head and turbo (or is that the 1DH-FT? both?) Anyway, if thats the case mounting is pretty straight forward but be prepared to fabricate and be flexible. Mounting breckets will need to be made as well as a new fan shroud. You will also have to re-plumb all the vacuum/water lines and redo the wiring etc. Its really not too bad, i can't give an figures it all depends on how much you hire out and stuff.

the 1HD-Ts are NICE but High dollar...
