How many 100's are still under warranty and owned by MUD members? The vast majority of MUD members bought used, and are not original owners, yet how many oil-related issues can you find regarding the 2UZ? Oh yeah, none...

True my friend. The fame thing that none of oil producers are listing on the oil container how often you suppose change oil, but car manufactures do , because every type of engine have different spec for the same oil type. So my point if Toyota says 5K just do it. To your point when I am purchasing used LC 100 and you are showing me a record of 5K oil maintenance I consider that rig over someone's with 15K maintenance - wound you?How many 100's are still under warranty and owned by MUD members? Let me tell you something so you can remember for the rest of your life.
It is recommended to wipe your ass each time you **** , but you think you are saving on toilet paper you can do every 3rd or 4th time and that cool with me. from the engine warranty and legal view it will look something like this:
. In cause of engine failure you come to Toyota and file for a warranty if you have one, Toyota will ask you to provide the maintenance record from the dealer or you. if you show them that you change oil every 15K miles and not 5K as recommended by Toyota, you can take your lab spec from Pap-and-Mam and you can wipe your a$$ with it - That what Toyota will tell you , because if you do not honer Toyota's recommendations then you are on your own world .
you are the man . I have 3 Land Cruisers 80,100 and 200. I do maintenance every 5K on the dot for all of them, I do not have lot of money to spend on experiments or trust "side notes". I trust what Toyota wrote in the maintenance book. You have a fetish for wiping butts or something? Dude.... let it go. I was a Lexus service adviser for 5 years, I'm well aware of how to maintain a vehicle, oil change recommendations, and Toyota's warranty process. If the vehicle is still in powertrain warranty.... Yeah keep to the manufacturer recommendation in the very unlikely chance something fails. Nearly everyone with a 100 is beyond powertrain warranty so it's really a MUTE point (as you so astutely put it). I personally have never heard or seen a 100 that was reasonably maintained with oil changes have any engine failure, other than the usual seals.
Bottom line, you provide ZERO evidence that going over 5k oil change with synthetic oil is detrimental any way. The proof I offer is all the old, high mileage 100s rolling around with extended oil change. Everyone please post your engine failures that aren't related to running it without coolant or driving it into a pond.
