what would the best way for me to determine the correct location for the engine mounts for the swap of 1hz into u.s. fj-60? Also drawing/specs for fabing the mounts would be great!!! Thanks. :bounce: :bounce:

bolt the engine to the tranny(i am assuming you are using a H55F) mount the assembly into the engine bay using the original tranny mounts. the height of the engine will be close to the same as the 2F and the distance from the engine to the frame will be the same or very close. the over all size of the 1HZ is close enough to the 2F to use it as a guide...
cheers

ditto as well. that's how i mounted my 13bt in. i used a combination of 2f and 3b mounts to make my mounts. i fabbed them in place based on where the engine was hanging. welded one side in, then the other. there would have been no easy way to fabricate anything before hand in my situation...

HZ-60 Engine Mounts

When I did mine, that is exactly what we did. Start at trani support and locate everything off that.

One word of warning - take a look at the vertical height of your engine location and if the stock fan set up will clear the lower frame bracket. My engine is about 2" lower and the stock fan will not fit. I'm thinking that I could have raised everything up 1-1.5" with a spacer on the trani-mount and raising the engine mounts before welding - and saved me money on an electric fan and possibly cooling issues (if my head gasket issue does not solve the problem).

Used a 2f bracket on passenger side, FJ75 bracket on driver side (LHD). They ended up being mounted about 2-3" behind the stock FJ60 mounts and just a hair lower. Used a 2F motor mount on left and FJ80 on right.

Good to see you on Mud Bob, welcome......

I got luck, located the engine the same as the others, but I did raise the engine enought that the fan easily clears the cross memeber. The body was off the frame at the time, so it was pretty darn easy.
