Won't go out. When I got the truck it would not go on and was not holding so I had the brake fixed and they told me the bulb was actually missing. It was all fixed but the other day it stayed on after I disengaged and not wont go off. I would rather have it stuck on because I can forget to disengage before taking off, but there has to be an easy fix. What action turns the light off when you put the handle down??

The brake light is triggered by a little switch under the parking brake lever. If you pull back its boot you can see it and test it. Also the brake light is triggered by the float switch in the brake master cylinder when the fluid gets low. Check that and it's plug too.

Your brake pads may be worn ... your master cylinder may be low due to all your fluid being in the caliper pistons .

Low brake fluid!! did it. Cheapest fix yet.

I just had the same issue again. Have you been wheeling lately or piwer washed under your rig?

It could be as simply as having some sand or other debris in the hand brake linkage at the axel.
Just spent 2 days wheeling at the 6th annual Turf n' Surf Veterans Nemorial Weekend gathering in Pismo Beach, CA

I pressure washed the undercarriage which rectified the issue.
