i have an ‘08 LC. The seat heater switch failed and I installed an eBay replacement with no issues a year ago. I also had a rodent nest in the cabin air filter about 2 months ago. The truck hasn’t been driven much because there is a ‘14 LX in the garage which went in for some body work 3 weeks ago. The LC was bullet proof until yesterday when the seat heater switch light came on. Turning the switch on and off does nothing for the light. I am confused because the switch shouldn’t have power to light up unless the switch is on?
Then this morning I went to start the truck and the START button light didn’t come on and the truck was dead. Doors lock with the remote so it is okay but even when I held the fob to the button nothing happened. I got back home about three hours later, got the battery charger out and jumped in the truck to pop the hood and the Start button lit up and the truck started without issue.
Now I don’t know if the rodent caused damage or the cheap switch is somehow the cause or if it is a mysterious gremlin unrelated to the above. I have an insurance claim but if they can’t find rat damage I’ll be on the hook for the dealership bill which kinda scares me. Any suggestions?
