On my 92 there is an electric fan mounted up by the left headlight with a hose that blows air on the block. At what temp does this fan kick in and where is the sending unit? I couldn't find and pervious discussion on this.

You might check with the 60 series guys too as the 62 likely has that fan, the 93 up do not.......at least I don't think they do.

Yup. I believe it blows on the manifold to prevent heat buildup after stopping.

I took mine out when I put in a second battery tray. Haven't noticed any problems yet but it's only been like 6 months. I've been told it is a carry over from the non-fuel injected engines to stop vapor-lock due to the intake & exhaust being so close to each other.

FWIW my 97 does in fact not have one. Must be a 3FE thing. :D

my 3fe'd 62 has the fan, heard it for the first time yesterday, hot day freeway run,

there is a sensor looking thing on a bracket in free air between the exhasut and intake near the back fo the motor, I am not sure that that is the sensor but I cannot think of anything else that sensor would be for.
