I will soon mount my egt thermocouple sensor into my exhaust manifold.

Is the goal to get a gas-tight seal with teflon tape
or
use anti-seize compound to prevent parts from fusing together over time?

I believe the EGT sensor uses some sort of pipe thread, so it expands as you tighten it deeper, and it seals itself that way. No teflon tape or anti-seize recommended.

If anything I would use a light coat of antiseize to make future replacement easier.

Thank guys.
From plumbing I know that pipe threads alone without sealant will always leak...how much it will leak I can't say.

I'll use some high temp anti-seize.
