Greetings:

I have been running for some time with my EGR disabled. Now I want to remove the components completely.

I have reviewd all previous threads about EGR removal and blocking off unused ports. I understand a blockoff plate to the intake is in order. However, the EGR pipe seems all but impossible to remove and block off at the head. My question is once the EGR valve is removed and the EGR pipe remains, what have others used to block off the pipe with?

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Get a fitting that threads into the egr pipe and weld or epoxy it so it's sealed.

Or remove the head.

Or get really ugly, cut the top off the pipe with the fitting, crush the new end flat, then give it a little bead weld.

Whatever you do, welding will probably be involved.
