if the ecu actually cares, it would use the data from the o2 sensor to see if the EGR is functioning.

I know that the OBD-II trucks do not. The only visibility is via the temp gauge sensor. I'm not sure of the OBD-I 1FZE or the 3FE's do....but I'm pretty sure that's so. ;)

plug pics and P/N (?)

Gabe- PM sent without pics; do I need a silver star to add pics to PM?

Hmmm... Want me to "jump" mine and see if I pull a code?

I don't know about adding pics to PM's, don't think you can.

That's definitely just something to keep the loop open. That must be the way of disabling EGR. My question is.....how did it get on your truck? The '93-'94's all came factory setup for Cali emissions (or so I've heard) and the bolt plugging your EGR temp sensor hole does not look stock.

I'm calling cdan and Lithia tomorrow to see if either can get me one.

Hmmm... Want me to "jump" mine and see if I pull a code?

I am considering a bit of wire and some heat shrink to test it, if it's going to take a while to get that.

$17.43 from Lithia. It's a class E rating as far as availibility (A-F, F being the hardest to get).

There are two in a So Cal warehouse. The only two in the US. I ordered both. :grinpimp:

buwhaahahaaa:D

Where you out of paper clips???? You're crazy dude!

Having it look OEM is worth it. (I still gotta deal with emissions, remember?)

If it doesn't fit (only works for ODB-I trucks), then I'll use some wire/paper clip. And resell these for $40 each.

no CEL after a tank over the weekend, no change in mpg, power, temp gauge (but it's still dumb)
:meh:
