The 40 had an exhaust manifold leak had it ground so good to go. I can get the manifold back on but my help (Kief) is to busy to the Carb and smog. I am signed up for Mc Grew. So if anyone has the time the help would be appreciated.

Does the carb need fixed or installed? And smog?
I having to stuff on my rig but can try and help out.
Need better details.

Manifold on except 1 bolt , next exhaust connection. Carb. to install new secondary diaphram and attach to manifold. Then hookup Smog hoses I have a emissions manual.

Update;ALL parts are on except emission hoses

It is still a help post with SMOG!!!!! and put the throttle thingy back together.

Ed had some issues that we worked out but the horrific exhaust leak had to be addressed and we pulled it and he had to get some machine work done. I couldn't make it back over to button things up. I think if Ed had someone to help him once-over all of his work and check torque on misc. bolts and to re-do the smog stuff that we straightened out previously that would be what is needed. Somewhere in the interim Ed addressed some fuel issues- maybe a fuel pump? We cleaned out some debris out of the carb but the vacuum actuator for the secondaries was junk and I believe he has a replacement for that... I am slammed at home and work and Oh yeah, my weekend was interupted by a fire almost next-door.. I better start preppin'.. Aye..

This a bad time for my troubles what with work, kids and McGrew. But I am doing pretty good here figured out the throttle gas pedal thing. And I lucked out and found a guy in the Applegate area that fixes fj 40's
and is making a house call in the morning.

So John came by and fixed the remaining issues on the 40. Took it for a test drive and wow quieter faster and more power. As of now looks like a go for McGrew. Just have to pressure wash the rig etc etc. Thanks to everyone especially Kief and John.
