My cruiser started giving me some problems and would give me a code every so often. So after doing so research I came to the conclusion to change my engine coolant temp sensor.

After buying the part and waiting a week I go outside to replace it. I was having some trouble to get the housing clip to release, so I took off the whole air intake to get better access. And within above ten minutes I had a broken housing, and the actual sensor had broke into two pieces.
Now by no means am I saying the parts shouldn’t have been that brittle because it has 300k on it. So I don’t think they have ever been replaced.

But anyway, I got the new OEM sensor installed and I ran and got what I thought was a housing replacement at advanced auto. Got it all soldered together and went to plug it in and the aftermarket part didn’t even fit.

The original housing had the numbers 10737 11062 on it. I looked that up and found the Toyota part number 90980-11062. On their website all it has is “Housing, Connector F” with a black and white picture that has poor graphics. I can’t tell if this is what i need to replace the old ects housing or not. Has anyone ever felt with the same issue and found a quality OEM housing?

☝🏾 That’s your problem. Here’s the correct connector:

Putting this on this thread as it might help others down the road when I figure it out.

My 01, has a different connector and sensor, not matching this one and I've basically hit a dead end finding the connector. Pics below:

One listed here which I ordered but wont fit(10737/11062):

You may already know this—look for the 5 digits printed on the connector itself (yours, the broken one). That's its part number, usually. 90980-xxxxx, where the latter part is the 5 digits you find.
