Yeah, that one doesn't look so good, not sure about the "6 cylinder" motor either.

As for the question of what a clean one would sell for on eBay, here's a clean fairly stock one that sold on eBay about 6 months ago for buy-it-now $14,800. The eBay link is expired, but here's the truck:

X4 ..... I voted twice. (Something that is very common in the Deep South)

Yeah, I know. But according to your signature, I think you are in the market for another 70 series
My "signature" is a little deceiving .........
It's taken me a while, but I have finally come to the conclusion that there is a slim chance that I can find nicer, better equipped Cruisers than the ones I already own. While I would never say never, my intentions are to keep my current collection.

Z28 on ebay now. not to reserve, but still 4 days left.

BJ74 might be next

You must be one of those guys who likes to build something cool and by the time you are done you never want to look at it again...:hillbilly:

And you get over it by starting another one....:rimshot:

You know me too well :) . Seriously, there are other reasons

Works for you...... :flush:

Quick aside,

Several years ago I was out in the driveway finishing the mock-up of an in-frame hitch on the 80. It was about dinner time and my wife came out and asked me "When are you going to be finished?"

I said "In about 15 minutes."

She said "No, with the truck?"

I was trapped at that point so I clammed-up and went in the house.

Nice find. I am lurking here because I would love to import some 70 series into the US. Just not a mature market for them (yet). I would comment that RHD limits the price and the market of buyers.

I have 7 trucks out of Colombia so far but am looking to add more modern driving trucks and would love to do 70 series (maybe I just secretly want to drive one here in the US). I can get plenty of rust free 70 series out of Colombia but they are gas models and actually are still popular/pricey in Colombia and not enough price here in the US. No diesels to be had in Colombia either. These BJ70s and LJ70s are trickling in from Europe (diesels commanding a higher price) but the issue is Europe has RUST like the USA. I looked at some a seller was selling and they have thick undercoating under them and rust in the rear wheelwells. Pricing was $15,000 to $20,000. To me it looks like the right rust free trucks should be $25k to $30k (as was well stated above). Not much different than the nicer FJ40s. You are just trading classic for higher tech/performance in the 70 series. Plus they are still 25 year old trucks that need mechanical review too.

For now I am waiting for when I can bring in Colombian FJ70/73s with the 4.5 EFI gas.

If someone is really wants one of the LHD diesels I may go to Europe and scout them out. I am already a bonded importer and should have my Florida dealer's license any day now.

I personally think if people in the US knew more about them they would be snapping up these 70 series trucks.

gas or diesel

Z28 fell short of reserve, but met reserve after the auction ended

Perhaps this post should be in "chat" or the "classified section" but doesn't seem appropriate here.
