Need to refinish this door and don't want to scratch the glass, but would like to use a powered tool to do the job.

Tape the glass prior (2 layers of blue tape)...sandpaper and scrapping tools will scratch it

Got the tape. Is Dad's stripper fast?

Need to get it done in a day so we don't end up with pack rats in the house.

remove the glass panels.. one side should be nailed in. Just careful pry the retaining trim off the muntin

Kinda leary of doing that, they are dual pane and if anyone can compromise the seal I will.

Spent the better half of the day doing online research on what to finish it with. Seems there is no miracle product (the sun beats the crap out of this door in the summer). So far I'm leaning on what I treat the logs with, requires maintainence, but seems to hold up and not get flakey.

Blend of shingle oil and boiled linseed. Any other finishes I should look at?

Look at INTERLUX marine products , they do wonders for wood finishes and they last for years. A little heavy on the $, but well worth it!
