Done. Easy. but hooked it up to a gray one first instead of the white one.

What is the grey one for?

I don't understand what you did.
Are you talking about adding the difflock switch?
Pin7 mod?

I'm slow.

Hays, the mod was installing the center diflock button/switch. I didn't do the 7pin mod.

The comment above about Locking the radio almost made me spit out my coffee!

OK. I've had a couple cups of coffee and now then engine is warmed up.
That's what I thought.

I added the center diff lock switch to my 80 yesterday as well  .
It IS so easy that it doesn't really feel like a "mod."

Thanks for the switch, Dan.

I also did the Pin7 mod. Turned out to be a piece of cake as well.
Unbolted the false pedal.
Popped off the kick panel.
I didn't have to remove the ABS ECU--just unplugged it, unplugged the transmission control plug from behind, removed the appropriate wire (I just snipped it), and plugged it all back in.

Works great.

7 pin mod... I remember reading about it once... but have since forgotten. What is the advantage in a nutshell.

I'm actually thinking about getting the free wheel hubs.

Total control over when the center diff is engaged--even in low-range.

My understanding of additional effects:

It also corrects for some low-range shift pattern changes you get when you install the cdl switch (and unplug the low switch at the t-case).

My understanding of the shift-pattern stuff may be a little off.

Here's a writeup with photos:

Wow. even that mod is super easy.

PHH is by far the worst mod i've done. took 2 hours on that one

Did mine today. Took <1 hour to install the switch, do the pin 7 mod, button it all back up and road test.

I would rate this as 1/2  .

Dave
