$1500. Someone give this some love and attention please.
Sadly, I must part with this. I think it's in a salvagable state. I prefer to sell it instead of letting it rust in place.
The truck is drivable. I've been driving it locally, but I would be a little concerned about a long trip.
It's a usual NE truck underneath. It was garaged for almost all its life, except for the last ~6 years. I bought this from my in-laws, who purchased it in 1997 with ~40k miles on it. Right now it has ~260k miles and has 'classic' plates on it.
I've been daily driving this for the last ~6yrs to work and biking.
Here's the rundown:
The truck is inspected until 5/2020.
Not off roaded
No alarm - I removed the infamous factory alarm a couple months ago. I did this because some gremlins started appearing: It started going off randomly *after* I started the truck, and the truck remained running (!). As a result, all is good except the tail lights / horn do not work. (I have not looked into the cause yet)
I disconnected the stereo when I removed the alarm. (It was installed incorrectly - not by me)
Cold A/C (had to have this done because of the windows....see below
)
Lockers work
No warning lights on
No sunroof leaks (I know of or see)
Passenger front and both rear windows are 'pinned' up. (I did this as a temp fix until I could get around to fixing - at last check the motors are all good)
Rust visible on the lower rear doors
Some pitting on the wheels and hood
'Usual' leaks:
Engine oil
transfer case
Steering pump
front pinion seal
Most of the work I've had done I'd call 'up keep'. (sorry, no major engine teardown/rebuild, etc...)
shock replacement, front wheel bearings replaced, new radiator, Brake parts as needed, replaced a header pipe / exhaust manifold,
2 new tires in the last couple months, distributor/wires.
I'll be posting pics asap. I'll get underhood shots and some more chassis pics. Feel free to message me with questions or pic requests.
