Earnhardt Toyota would like to have our fine group at 6136 East Auto Loop Avenue Mesa, AZ 85206 to have Coffee and Donuts in the morning Afterwards, we will go to do a trail run at Box Canyon, Florence AZ. We will have fun and go back for a post trail gathering at Earnhardt Toyota where we will line up our rigs as if they were the Rockettes. They will provide lunch for us. Rumor has it they may have some swagg to give away. They were originally interested in a FJ Gathering, but I talked to them and anyone is welcome. I was hoping some of you old school Land Cruiser dudes would join in to show the old and new, along with whatever everyone else has too. This would be a good way to promote responsible wheeling and have a good variety of different types of rigs show.
Please reply if you are interested, I will put you on the list. They kind of need to know what the count is for swagg and food
thanks
Don

but my Toyota has a "L" on it...

Don't know if I can do the run with my son's football game but can I join in the post game party?

awwwwwwwwwwwwww

I'm out. I'll be in Wisconsin. Brrr...

Don,

Will this be a quick run through box canyon and out? Depending on the quantity and build of the attending rigs this quick and simple run could quickly turn into a LONG day.

Also, are they prepared to host a large group? Depending on where you posted this I could easily see 60 plus rigs showing up for this deal. Thats a HUGE group to try to keep managed. There's not a lot of obstacles in the box or on the way out but I could deffinately see the need to set up about 3 stations where a 2 man team would be needed to spot all of the participants through.

Are you the main point of contact with Earnhardt Toyota on this? Or is there someone else? Will reps from the dealership be along for the trail ride? Logistically this is totally doable but will need some organizing.

I'd like to see heavy participation from CSC members on a run like this.

I would like to come but I may have work obligations that day. Pardon my ignorance but I haven't been on this trail......how technical is it?

Box Canyon was a lot more washed out towards the end than I remembered. I took my brother and his friends down there a couple weeks back and their stock "rental" 4x4 Armada had some issues but did make it through. Good thing they got the max insurance cause they almost 86'd some running boards. After the one larger step/drop about two thirds off the way through there is now 3 or 4 other sections that would need spoting for stockers.

I'm in though.

Pretty easy if it's just Box. IMO

Have fun, LCPhil and I will be coming back from our expedition that day.

It's a long dirt, sandy road with a couple of bumps, rating 2.5 maybe?:D Not saying that's bad, the box area is very scenic and it’s a fun trail, just not technical and easily done by most stock trucks.

I thought about it again...chances are no game so I'm in. Got to show off that new battery! HAHAHA
