cleaning out the "new" 45 and just noticed it doesn't have the screw on plates instead of hinges. The windshield frame is actually part of the cowl/tub
I've always seen the plates on non removable top models, just wondering how many others are like this?
also wondering what sealed between the windshield frame and cowl, because it is not removable, I can see light thru the seem/crack where the cowl/windshield gasket is usually located.

also found both original small taillights

it's an early '63, previous owner relocated the wiper motors to the bottom?

Jim C found one of these I think last year

I remember seeing Jims find, but didn't notice the "missing" plates

The wiper mod was 1 of just a few PO mods, not bad for an almost 50 year old rig.

I thought mine was welded by the PO, this makes me happy to think it is original!

I belive those to be 64 to early 69 tail lights. The first generation didn't have the molded housing on the back. I seen the fixed windshield in a parts book or micro-fiche

now that you mention it John, I'm pretty sure that 'an early '63 would have had the carry over small lights per E-'62. it looks as though it came with the bezel that didn't make it through the entire'63 production run
