I can get 100ft of 1/2 dyneema winch line for about $180. I've got a warn M12000. Is this too good a deal to pass up? Good match for my winch?

Thanks.

Thanks for that! I'll probably have to pull the trigger. It's a really good deal and it's brand new.

What kind of Dyneema fiber is it. Post up a link or send one to me in PM (whatever is easiest) and I'll post up the info you need. I have to guess that at $180 for 100' of 1/2" you are not going to be purchasing the proper grade of Dyneema line.

I found this spec sheet, not sure if its the same as what your looking at.

http://www.secondair.com.au/dynamicarope/drange.htm

Its all in metric and says 12mm is rated at 16000kg breaking strength. That's over 35000lbs! Like I say, I'm not sure its the same stuff, but looks like a good deal.

Not sure if that is the correct spec sheet... see above and below...

I'd hold off a bit. What type of Dyneema fiber is it? There are several. What you want is Dyneema SK75. Can you post a link to the line you are looking at?

Probably Tuff Stuff......

wow, that's an incredible deal

Thats not SK75. 1/2" SK75 is rated at 34,000 pounds (30,600 minimum) not 17,500.

EDIT: This is also false...

most importantly will NOT recoil if broken making this the safest option for winching on the trail, or trailer!

Synthetic rope will recoil. And can be just as deadly as wire rope if the circumstances align themselves correctly.

The 17,500 is the working load not breaking strength.
