Unfortunately they dont have the duratracs in the standard 275/70/16 size, now its down to the Yokohama Geolander a/t (hell no..) and the BFG All Terrain, not much of a selection.

Why not bump up to the 285s? You'll be much happier with the look of the tires in the end.

haha good get the bfgs or the duratracs i want to see that build thread of yours continued. i subscribed a while back

Wheels, Tires and Rear bumper are going on soon...

I was just reading on Tirerack some good reviews of the Firestone Destination AT...

Of the tires listed, I'd vote for the Duratracs. I've been running a set of 275/70 R18s (E rated) for the last 6mo and 12,000mi and they're proving to be excellent in snow and winter conditions. I was very impressed with their performance during our last couple of snowstorms here in Colorado. Wet road handling was also unexpectedly good, and they have great grip in the mud.:D All around, this is one heck of a tire.

Road noise is as the others described, louder than HTs without being as loud as an MT. I haven't heard any high pitched whining or other irritating noises. The truck is just a little 'louder' with them on.

Tread wear on my set has been great so far. I'm doing 5 tire rotations every 5k and so far the tires show very little wear. I'll get 40k+ easy if they keep this up.

My set wandered quite a bit at high speeds when first mounted, but they settled down after the first 3000 miles or so. I still feel the truck wanders a touch more than it did with HTs on, but that's probably to be expected with the tread pattern.

If you go with the DTs, I highly recommend getting them roadforce balanced. These are not the roundest tires in the world, especially in 18" rim size. It took a lot of weight to balance mine.

i know, and i wish. Problem is its not completely my rig my dad has ownership but its my DD and hes not sure of the future of the cruiser and obviously the bigger tires would affect the value of the truck, but we'll see this limited selection will either work in my favor or against me.

I just went and took a look, seems like a nice tire more like the Toyo Open Country A/T's

Update

Alright, ended up going with the Bfg's for the size. 33's are to come this summer but these measure out to be nearly a 32 so I'm happy with the over all result..:D

That is silly.
