Fox Bravo Overland is planning an overland adventure heading north of Albuquerque into southern Colorado and back. We're a non-profit overland adventure group providing outdoor adventures for our deserving veterans and first responders.
We'll be setting two base camps-one north of Durango near Haviland Lake and then one southeast of Los Alamos. Looking for advice on trails, historical sites, must see locations, etc. Trip is planned for Sep 9-17, 2024.
Thanks for the input! (Fox Bravo Overland — Heroes Night Out - https://heroesnightout.org/outdoors-fbo)
Cheers,
Greg

Take a day and take the Durango to Silverton Steam train. About a 8 hr round trip with a 2 hour layover in Silverton.
