While replacing the Timing Belt, water pump, radiator and compressor, i left the line coming out of the trans cooler uncapped. Didn't realize it was leaking pretty consistently for awhile.

Now I have no idea how much I leaked out and if I can start the engine and drive it to a local shop for them to empty and fill the rest. I've been meaning to take it to them anyway. Unsure if it requires a tow now though. What's pictured is about half of what leaked.

I would add 1-2 quarts and check it via the Toyota procedure after you start the rig up. As long as you are letting it run in park and aren't driving it there should be no ill effects of having it a bit over or under filled.

You can add in new fluid thru the cooler lines with a funnel or via the 24 mm plug on the back of the transmission.

Your fluid is due for a change though as it looks brown. If you can change a TB you can easily do a full fluid exchange yourself in a few hours. I have some info in my build thread of how I've done it.

Thanks! I'll follow the procedures to check the levels and top it off if needed.

I'll still take it to the shop, local shop and friend of a friend type deal. Offered to change the oil and transmission pan gaskets, all the other seals gaskets and drain and fill the transmission/diff for $250. I'm supplying the gaskets, but still seems like a good deal, at least until I can get a lift in my garage....

Just FYI but I'd suggest a full exchange instead of a drain and fill. The drain and fill only get 4 quarts or so while the trans holds about 15. IMO, it's better to put in all fresh fluid instead of mixing old with new.
