In a lot of pictures I see the passenger side louvers below the hood look like they unbolt. why is that? I am sorry if this is a dumb question but I searched under louvers and cam up blank.
 
Yep, heater blower intake. Why does it come off? So you can clean out the squirrel nests.

early 40's had the bolt on vent(there were at least 2 styles of the vent) for the heater, which was an option back in the early to mide/late 60s. Not sure if it went from the bolt on to the built in on both sides at the same time. But on latter 2f's the DS vent is used for the intake for the carb cooling fan.
 
Hey I need one of those for my '70, Anyone got one out there, Like a Dumb ass I threw mine out after all the holes rusted through.

Now I think there up there with some other unobtainium parts.

Any help??

On one the louvres were horizontal and another they were on the 45*. The one I have is whore-izontal.
