Hi all.

Im getting my engine remanufactured and currently thinking of putting a DUI distributor as an upgrade.

Nothing wrong with the original distributor.
I guess my question is is it worth doing this kind of upgrade?
Does anybody have any experience with this particular brand?

Any input is welcome.
Thanks in advance...

I am about to be in the same position and decided to stick with my stock distributor with my aftermarket Jacobs Omni coil. A aftermarket coil will help get a more consistent spark.

sell ya mine for $150

Sportbiker,

Why you selling it ?

Had no use for it? did not like it?
Thanks

They DUI distributor fits differently and you have to make sure they engage the oil pump properly so your engine gets oil.

So replacing the waterproof, ball bearing, remote vented, remote coil distributor with an all-in-one unit with an undersize coil that gets hot, non waterproof construction, only a single cheap ball bearing on the shaft, is an upgrade?

That's good marketing on somebody's part.

Can I have that crappy old Denso distributor & coil when you're done?;)

If you want to upgrade your ignition (& it all works) a big coil is the cheapest way. Then you can open up the plug gap.

Another note on going to another dizzy, you'll lose your altitude compensating advance.

Ok. I got the message loud and clear..
Thanks guys... oem it is....
