They suck.Leaf springs are what real land cruiser's have sorry I don't make the rules.
We are talking about soul and spirit, not what name tag the marketing department decided to slap on which suv.Gents, I believe Toyota makes the rules WRT what is a “real” Land Cruiser:
But the real land cruisers have leaves I don’t make the rulesThey suck.
The friction between leafs makes the ride worse than coils. And leafs have significantly worse articulation than coils. Add in the fact that control of axle movement is worse with leafs, so handling also suffers.
Leaf springs can be better when carrying very heavy payloads (like for medium and semi trucks). But for an SUV, coil springs are far superior.
According to nobuddy you do. Chop chop. Get at it. You are in violation of his “rules”!I've removed all the leaves on my 70 series. Do I need to remove the Land Cruiser badges now?

That’s good! I’ve never known someone that is so fragile to not get a joke.I never knew we had an “ignore” function on this site. First time in 18 years here I’ve had to use it, and man, I’m enjoying it!
She looks fun. Do you have a build thread? It's all in fun and games.
Toyota never made an HJ73. It's a conglomerate of at least 5 different Land Cruisers to build what I think is the most "Land Cruiser" to me.
Ah, thank you for reminding me.I never knew we had an “ignore” function on this site. First time in 18 years here I’ve had to use it, and man, I’m enjoying it!
Happy to help!Ah, thank you for reminding me.
Always tint my windows - that helps tremendouslyMost roads aren’t straight.![]()
Made the point before the 250 is a Prado follow up and called as such in the rest of the world. Anybody thinking when they get the 250 they are not buying a Land Cruiser Prado aka Prado is in Lala land in my opinion.
In the US the last real Land Cruiser is the 200 and we should have gotten the 300 series. It matches or improves on the 200 series capability and is what every other manufacturer does, expect for the Toyota marketing spin around the 250.
