Made the point before the 250 is a Prado follow up and called as such in the rest of the world. Anybody thinking when they get the 250 they are not buying a Land Cruiser Prado aka Prado is in Lala land in my opinion.

In the US the last real Land Cruiser is the 200 and we should have gotten the 300 series. It matches or improves on the 200 series capability and is what every other manufacturer does, expect for the Toyota marketing spin around the 250.

Can you point out where it says real Land Cruiser on your chart? Maybe I missed it or is it in Japanese?

I love it. Go and get your Prado dude and be happy.

Do not try to convince me otherwise. In the world it is known as a Prado and the 250 still is, they just conveniently dropped of the series naming for the same in the US and apparently Europe pretending something it is not.

Ok but where does it say it’s not a “Real” Cruiser? Does your 200 say “Real” Land Cruiser on it? Or is Land Cruiser a line of vehicles that sit in three categories ranging from light duty, heavy duty, and station wagon?

Thanks for all the neat pictures. I love a good Land Cruiser.

Once you buy a 250 enjoy your Prado dude!

Can we start a “it’s not a real Land Cruiser” for all those who seem butt hurt?!?
Yeah, buying a 250 and thinking it is not a Prado hurts once you travel outside the US and realize it is in most of the world just that.

Just how do you explain that the GX460 was the Lexus variant of the Prado 150 and the GX550 not a successor of the same... I guess you realize there is a LX600 sold here.

How much are you into your ‘21 for? $90k?

Bought it new for $80.5k in Oct 2020 and plan to keep it for 20y+. If available would consider a Land Cruiser 300 series once the 535d falls over. Not sure i like the LX600 with the big spindle grill and general bling, however the CBI "covert" bumper could bring that within reason. I would in fact consider a 250 series in GX dress, as the turned down the spindle design is acceptable and the V6 would work for me, would wait however for a few years to let them shake out any issue. I would have no pretention though that it is based on anything else than the Prado. Nothing wrong with the Prado or Land Cruiser Prado, it is just not a Land Cruiser like the 80, 100 and 200 series.

Dude, I've been in Central & South America (along with many other parts of the world)...I'm very aware of what Toyota sells outside the CONUS.

And good grief...Texas has enough problems on its own....no need to continue propagating the assbackwards image.

Prado's being sold on many continents of the world. You just drop off the name Prado and the legendary Land Cruiser is born, really...

What mechanical and design evidence leads you to think the 250 is based on the 150?

For example the tow capacity and the small engine. As well as Toyota's own chart showing the same. The frame has already been much discussed and is not the same between the Tundra, Sequoia, 250 or 300 series. Maybe similar design principles and some common components, but many Toyota's already share parts, nothing new there.

I see.
