Dual Case?'s

So ive doen some reading and im still a bit confused. I know there are a few options usually involving tranny swaps but, im cheap and broke so thats outa the question plus i wanna stay as yota as possible. i saw a thread about using a hilux case with an lc case but never really saw any conclusion. how does it work would it be something a fab novice could do or should i pay someone else to do it or.......
Reason i ask is i have a hilux tcase from another project that didn't make the cut and i figured before i get rid of it i would see if it was usable.

will the adapter intended for the lc 4 speed tranny bolt right up to the canadian 5speed?
