Hey Guys,

I checked the search quick but did'nt see anything. The glass portion of the DS mirror has starting to shake lately while driving. Anything I can do to fix that? The PS is still fine.

Thank you,

Brian

Loose mirror

Hey 92cru...

I had the same problem with mine. Not wanting to go the $180 route, I took the mirror out with the little screw on the bottom center of the mirror. This unfastens the bottom edge, on the top are two little holes that slide over small hooks on the inside of the frame. It might take some careful jiggling (almost typed giggling) to raise it up and off the hooks.

What I found is apparently a common problem. One of the holes had the top edge broken off, allowing that corner to flap around. I have read that some epoxied a small washer to repair the hole. I used a small scrap piece of plastic and my trusty soldering iron to "weld" a replacement to the broker piece in place.

So far, so good (and free).

Unfortunately I tried the silicon trick on my mirror and noticed no difference. My tabs didn't look worn though. So I think my problem is in the motor itself. I haven't hear of a fix for this other than the new mirror route.
