My cable has a few kinks in it. The most of them are within the first 20 feet of the drum. I figure i could cut that section off and put a new terminal end on. I could use the cable until i can afford a synthetic line. I see that i can get new terminal ends for about $10 from Warn online. Any idea how i install these? Do i just crush them down onto the end of the wire with a vice or hammer or do i solder it on? Also i get the idea that these terminal ends are not really a weight bearing item. They just hold the wire in place untill it wraps around the drum a few times. I can get a Warn part for $10 plus shipping which isnt bad. But does anyoe know if a generic part for electrical cable will work or what size i would need? I might be able to find one locally for $2-3.
