Ok so puddle might be an understatement.

I have an 05 Lexus GX470. Driving home yesterday we had some flash floods.

Today after driving for 10 miles my dash lite up. Check engine and traction control.

I checked the code with my Torque app and got P2716 Pressure Control Solenoid D Electrical.

Any recommendations on what my first steps should be?

TIA
Rob

My best guess would be the water got into the sensor where it enters the tranny housing, or maybe the water pressure from running through the “puddle” damaged or temporarily strained the wiring to the sensor.

Did you reset the codes? Maybe once it dries out, it won’t be an issue. Check the wiring harnesses and sensors on the tranny. Doubt you’d get a tranny fluid pressure code just randomly at the same time you hydro’d through some water.

Just guessing though.

I tried to clear the code and it wouldn't clear.

Tried again and it cleared. Drove for 4 miles and it came back on.

Cleared again, drove again for 30 miles and it came back on.

Clean the connection at the transmission...could just be a bad solenoid. Could be the harness, could be the ecu. Hard to say without troubleshooting

Assuming I am in the right place [and I think I am] how do I go about trouble shooting?

Ok I am having trouble uploading pics? Does anyone have a pic of where I should be checking??

Is this just such an uncommon problems in these trucks that the issue hasn't been tackled much?

Where should I start by trouble shooting? All connections appear to be ok.

I have driven it 800 miles like this and the codes and hard shifts have not cleared up.

Maybe I am just not looking in the right spot. The solenoid is in the pan correct? I have poked around on some wires and everything seems ok where exactly are the solenoid wires on my 05?

Was root cause ever found on this problem ? I'm having the same issue on my 2003 100 series but mine recurs immediately after I clear it. No signs of any wiring problems. Check engine, VSC lights and limp home mode.

2003 100 series with 212K miles.

Just got this issue. Decided not to drive it until a trusted tranny pro checks it out.

VSC, Check Engine Light...cleared code then it came back.

Hard shifting. P2716 Pressure Control Solenoid D. Fault in the linear solenoid valve (SLT) circuit. Yikes!

Please let us know what they diagnose. Would be helpful for others in the future.

What ended up happening here? I'm trying to fix a p2716 code.
