Nice looking Moj. That's the lift i went with (medium). I noticed after about 2 months that things settled out and i lost maybe a 1/2 inch lift, and also developed the stink bug stance. I also believe the ride got a little better and softer. I have the spacers for the front when i get the ARB to help get rid of the stink bug.

I had the hardest part getting those stupid little shock hoop things in the rear back correct.

Ok, sorry to break in on a thread, but are the roof racks on all your 80's over there standard...

I like the look of them and are a lot more stream lined then the gutter mounted ones...

MoJ,

No idea how much it affects the readings. The plastic ring that acts like a lock requires more force to turn, right? When you put a torque wrench on it, seems to me there is torque not accounted for in the factory settings required. I'd think the end result is a reduction in clamping force (since some of the torque you're reading is being used to attempt to overcome the added friction). I doubt I explained it very well or that it matters with the shock bushings.

merv,

Most, though not all, 80s here have that roof-rack. It was a port installed item (ie not from Toyota). It was a VERY POORLY thought out addition. You can do a search on the board here and see the problems we have with them (namely rust). I was very disappointed to see how cheaply they threw mine on when I looked at the attaching hardware. Someone should be held accountable somewhere (but that's for another thread).

Mine don't have no stinking port rack!! :)

I put the 1" rubber Mr. Gasket coil spacers on my '93 and it leveled it out nicely. The ride was good too. I'd do it again if I was doing it...

I'm hoping that I solved this attitude levelling . On the weekend , I'll be putting 850J/863 coils on (L-shocks around) , and it should sit level with my equipment (nothing :D ) . I just mention this here in case there are different coils that you can put up front , that might solve the attitude issue . I don't know all the tech stuff though .. better to call Slee if you plan to replace coils for your app . Way more involved ....

TY -
