I have searched but haven't had any luck in my findings...I looked to see if anyone has used a 2wd tranny to divorced t-case. I am trying to figure out if this set up will push my overall drivetrain too far back for the shafts. Has anyone ever looked into this for me to steer me in the right direction or at minimal have any thoughts on it? Trying to keep cost down if unnecessary. My options are

1. divorced t case to 2wd 4L60e $200ish
2. selling my transmission for a 4wd with 241 already packaged together. Most local places are $800ish(if I can sell my transmission, net $600ish)
3. advanced adapter for stock t-case $1,300+

Has anyone done a divorced t-case in their FJ60/62?

It'll make a very long front DS, but you will likely have the room to do it. But where will you put the VSS? What axles are you going to run?

I got an output shaft for my 700R4 and used the TH350 adapter to hook it up to a 203, then used the AA 203/split tcase adapter to hook it to the Stock Tcase. Easy peasy..

VSS would stay in place in the 2wd tranny...adding a divorced 205 shouldn't make a difference with the VSS, right?

Stock axles...passenger side drop np205 and yeah, the rear shaft won't be inline with the rear diff but that should be too big of a deal...however, that depends on the length once drivetrain is installed...a married case I wouldn't be too worried but I'd have to make sure it wasn't too angled.

Does running a 700r4 make a difference between a TBI vs Vortec? I'm putting this up to a 1997 vortec.

Nope, it just means you won't need a computer to control the tranny..

I read that you just have to connect something to the TBI via cable...a lot of this chevy terminology is new to me

That's a TV cable. Swapping to a manual valve body will fix the issue. Or adapting the TV cable to the vortec intake.

the 700r4 is starting to look more appealing to me. get rid of the need to have additional wires to the transmission and the np208 can be found on local craigslists in a passenger side drop more readily than the 4l60e with driverside drop. I'll still need to find a pass. side drop tcase with that route.

yeah, that is a hard thing. I know this tranny i have was mated to my v8 and it was running fine before it was pulled
