Those of you who have done a swap, are you measuring your ujoints and getting conversion joints? are you changing the output flanges on your tcase? 54x60x10mm isnt exactly common, all the things I see are 8mm bolts, but I need to convert to a 60x60x10 pattern, and I can buy flanges of the bolt pattern I need but I am not getting accurate information on the ujoints. I look in some places, and its internal clips, others it says external, cruiser corps has a bunch of ujoints but theres ZERO tech info on there. Do I just drill my round output flange on the transmission and then worry about the front differently?

if you can drill that hard ass metal, do it.. The joints from the plants in japan are much better than the ones anywhere else. the bearings with the inside clips are better, but clean up the ears of the flanges and where they sit or you will fight the caps on seating well .
I dont know your rig really to suggest more. However most shops online show years in which they work.

A little more info on vehicle, you have several in your sig line, might help. What are you actually swapping and why do you have to change u-joints?

Yes you can drill the round flanges with little effort. Do one at a time and get them lined up.

So its my 70 FJ55, i put a 1uz with a A340F in it and the output flanges are 60x60x10mm while my stock driveshafts are 64mmx56mmx10. The ujoints I have now are external clip. What im looking for is the specifics on the u jount size so I can either purchase a new u joint flange thats got the 60x60 pattern, but our ujoijt fits, or if I have to buy 27 spline output flanges that are 64x56 but all triple drilled ones are 64x56x8mm So trying to see whats more commonly done to adapt the driveshafts

Are the slip joint splines on the driveshafts the same? If so, you could swap the end you need. I know FJ4X slip joints are the same regardless of the bolt patterns.

That.... thats a damn good question. I dont have any of the driveshafts from the 4runner i got the trans from. But if I can buy one they have a CV joint on them and i could use that side maybe.

I put all my eggs in this basket, and youre a flippin genius. My 4runner driveshaft just showed up and switched the slip yokes and boom bam done.

Do you know what year the 4 runner dline was from ? I am suprised the slip matched, thats good info.
So its from a 87 and 89 4runner - i bought two front driveshafts. They were 50$ from LKQ but people on ebay have them left and right. The 85-04 4runner, tacoma, etc. All the same driveshaft from what I read so far, theres a high possibility that it spans farther because the 05 sequoia parts car I have also shares the same flange, but it has a transmission slip instead of a bolt on flange. So the possibilities are basically endless

glad it worked out
BTW
on most 40s the joint is inside clip and the Japanese joints are miles better for our purpose and the hard part is getting a flange to fit the cups.
Whatever you are going to use , get Japanese if possible . Not sure what the DS from the runners use .

I need the 56 x 60 at tcase due to the sm420 and no spud shaft adapter. FWIW WFO has flanges drilled for multiple patterns, nice units.

So, the splines on the slip joints are the same, but the depth of the splines are different. Be very aware of that when you build your DS. If it bottoms out it will crack your tcase. Or, it can slip apart.

Thankfully these slip yokes are same dimensions externally, ill measure the depth and have to account for my lift as well. Still puttin my ducks in a row. SOA is my next priority

posting pics on my build thread of the differences. trying to keep in one so when I look back at what I messed up its easy to find
