This is likely a dumb question, but I need help!!!

You know how some folks like the drivers seat to move back when exiting the truck for ease of getting out. Well I don't like this feature as I have stuff packed behind the drivers seat fairly often & the seat physically can't be moved back.

Anyway, my 2019 LC automatically moves the seat back maybe 10% of the time. Does anyone know what's up or more importantly how to get it to never move back?

The dealer should be able to program it and also the steering wheel if it moves up. If you have techstream you should be able to do it yourself. There might be a setting in the navigation screen to change it like in some Lexus models but I am not sure since I own an older model LC.

While the manual isn't very clear there might be a way (I used Techstream).

Take a look in your owner's manual. For my '17 model the discussion is in two places, (1) Operation of each component - section 3-3, page 139; and (2) the Customizing features section, starting on page 574.

The page numbers might be wrong given a different model year, but should get you in the ballpark.

If you just want to tinker your way through...
Press the Setup button on the main screen then select Vehicle. That should get you most of the way there.

thanks guys. Any idea why it randomly moves the seat back?

I have a 2019, and have never experienced the driver's seat moving back when switching off the engine.

There is a customization feature that ties your seat settings to your key fob, so if your seat is moved by someone (valet, service tech, etc.), it will return to your preferred position when you unlock the vehicle.

Right. I wonder if the OP doesn't have the memory set for his position.

I've got the memory set. Whenever the seat starts moving back I just immediately hit the "1" button and it automatically moves the seat back to the saved position. I just have to be careful of this each time I stop b/c of carrying stuff (solid stuff) in the floor behind the driver seat sometimes. Again, this only happens about 1 out of 10 stops. I just can't figure out what I'm doing as I imagine it's me & not the LC.

As bit of info, the steering wheel always moves to allow easy exit. I have no problem with the steering wheel moving - just the seat.

Try this. Delete the memory positions on all memory positions (or set them all the way forward. Then set one of the setting to your desired position.

Make sure that you're always using the same key.

Does that resolve the issue?

My steering wheel doesn't move either. I looked in the manual and can't find anything that mentions this feature (or the seat moving back).

All Land Cruiser/LX have the ability to have the steering wheel move up and in (towards dash) and the driver seat move back to make egress and ingress easier.

Its either a setting that is available via your nav screen or via TechStream. I believe it’s the former. I’ll confirm tomorrow when I can look at the user manual and FSM.

At different times when the seat moves or doesn’t move, are you using a different t key fob? Each key fob may have a different tsetting or memory preset.

Same key fob - wife has the other & she's only been in truck twice.

Thanks everyone for the help. I will zero out the fob and reset to see if this works. Problem is it may be a week before I'm convinced of any solution since it moves so infrequently.

In the LX, This is a setting that you access through the navigation screen. It might be accessible in the LC as well. This has nothing to do with what key fob you use. If the easy entry option is on, the seat will move back. You can even set it to move half or full way.
