I'm in search of the spring loaded cup holder part that sits in the middle of the center console drink holder on a 100 series TLC. The part is easily removable from the cup holder and is spring loaded to allow cups of various sized to be held in place. The stealership doesn't source this one part, but will only replace the entire center console cup holder assembly which is over $200. Does anyone have one of these laying around that they don't want or know of a place where I can source just this one small part?

I wanted to try this place first before I started calling salvage yards. If none of that works, I'll try to steal one from a used car lot. Don't make me resort to a life of crime. I'm tired of spilling my coffee. Help.

I'm going to post this in the WTB forum as well. Thanks...

Try board member CDan.

He is the parts guru.

Two weeks ago i saw a tech at my dealership get handed a brand new butterfly cup holder for the center console. Is it really true they wont replace just that, or are they trying to upsell you so you have to pay more?

I see them sell on eBay for $15-20 from time to time.

I went thru c-dan at 1-800-432-6668 last August to replace my drink holder on my '99. Cost of the unit includes the center butterfly insert. I also got the coin holder to replace that small plate near the gear shift...paid like $110 for both.

I've only seen the inserts on eBay...

Yep... It only comes with the cupholder assy :frown:

But, you can get one for the low, low price of $120.95 (msrp) :D

I guess you could always pretend that you bought the butterfly insert for 120 bucks and got a free cupholder with it

Ied imagine the one for me is even more than 120 dollars since i have the real wood laminated to the door of the cupholder. If i ever break that little butterfly thing, im definately restoring to a life of crime.

Nope loud, you will not pay anymore. the new door will come without the wood, you will have to unglue the old wood and reglue it to the new one.

the LX wood and the LC wood are different. You guys have fake stick on wood, the LX's have real wood laminated into the part. The trim peice that holds the left rear window switch and ash tray is broken on mine. Lexus wanted over 800 dollars to replace it due to the wood.

uploading pictures now... i will edit them in.

Thanks

I just noticed the LARGE cup holder area and noticed it's not very practical for small coffee cups -- just Big Gulps from 7-11.

Even this part looks like it may not completely help either though. Anyone with experience with these?

these cup holders are a lot better then the holders in our 2005 LS430. They cant hold anything without you constantly worrying about spilling them. Not to mention my mother has broken her cup holder twice.

Hoser45, do you have the extra 2 cup holder in the center console?

venti drip from starbucks sits precariously. seemingly waiting for any sharp move to dump everywhere. add in the fact that my 10# mini pinscher goes on the 6A coffee runs with me and there are just too many moving parts. only thing i'd improve that i've noticed.....

Actually these are pretty effective, as compared to most. The adjustable butterfly has several notches for different size cups. I don't know if they are interchangable, but the butterfly piece in my 4Runner also can be inserted in three different positions laterally, offering more range.

2 cups

Mine is a 2001 and had two holders under a wood cover you need to lift to access.

I need that butterfly part! You better keep your doors locked Loud....I'm gonna come steal that thing from you. ;-)

Where to find one?

Ok, so if I went through dealer, it's the whole consul? Otherwise, lurk on ebay? Isn't there an aftermarket supplier?

I love to ahve that butterfly part as well; guess I will check ebay.
