80 owners,

I remember back then somebody had replaced the OEM 80-S drain plugs with HEX HEAD (Allen Drive). The Allen drive drain plugs have no corners to round off and help insure serviceability of your transmission, transfer case and axles even after some severe rock pounding. Magnetic drain plugs help to capture debris.

Now my question is for those already replaced it,

Can you please post the part number?
Are those the same size between differential, transfer case, ATF drain plug and Engine Oil drain plug?
Also somebody mentioned those are the same size (HEX HEAD) they use for ’00 Toyota Camry transfer case?

Mucho Gracias.

just call Dan and order them. he's got the part numbers memorized most likely, will give you the best deal most likely, and it's done.

The 90341-18021 allen head magnetic drain plugs work as fill and drain plugs on both diffs and the transfer case. They are about $2 each.

I've ran them for years. They are great. Get 6 of them. 4 for your diffs and 2 for your t-case. Then go to Napa and get a ratchet socket with a 10 mm hex head.

Also make sure there's enough meat left on your diff protector rings. I've seen diff plugs come lose by getting hit by rocks. I had mine upgraded last year at 4x4 labs

The hex nut was there while they welded on the new ring.

Thank you all but one more question, Do i also need to get the washer (ring)?
I just called the Toyota dealer and they told me the part number for the washer 90430-18023 this is the one goes with allen head magnetic drain plugs 90430-18021.Can anybody confirm it?

Thank you again

Jerry

Jerry,

Yes. Buy a bunch of them x 6.
You should replace them with every oil change.
I change all my diff oils once a year. And always check them after a water crossing.

Does it come with the washer or you have to buy it separately?

Jeff,

The washers are disposable. They are supposed to be changed with every oil change. You'll need one per plug for a total of 6.
