I am seeing a lot of double posting happening lately. It's happening to me and I hear complaints from others that are all on different browsers and computer OSes.

It happens sometimes just with a simple post that shows up as two and sometimes it happens when I edit a post. When I edit and the double posting happens, the second post will have the edit but not the first one.

This has been happening for three or four days I think...

Mostly TUT, since that's where I post the most. I or dieseldog have been fixing them though, usually by merging so there isn't much trace.

Also we've realized that for he and I we get double posts because we are mods there but the other users are getting a single post plus a 30 second error message.

Here are two examples. In both cases the second post has been left in place but edited:

neither of those even shows me an 'edited by' notation...

next time it happens, do NOT fix it and report then...

i am not quite double posting but after i post i frequently find myself with the duplicate post warning on the screen and the post i just posted in a new reply window behind it and also showing up as just posted.

Does this occur when using QuickReply, or only when using the full NewReply page?

not sure. i will check next time but i think the former. i only use full reply when quoting.

I think it's mostly quick reply for me, since I use it most of the time.

This post of semlin's tried to double, as he describes two posts later: https://forum.ih8mud.com/ultimate-t...-35-percent-possible-nsfw-43.html#post8245331

Interestingly, I tried double clicking on the submit button a couple times and I got the "this is a duplicate post that is the same as one you posted within the last five minutes" error message, so the problem is more than a hiccup at my end or with my ISP...

Still looking into why....

tho, I find it more than strange that the only reports are from TuT... ;)

actually, that leads me to a possible issue with large threads...
