This stuff has the 3/4" welt and the 1/16" edge thickness?

So are you placing another order? Taking money in advance? (got paypal cash burning a hole in my... well... pocket, sorta.)

Oh, and it is 3/16 lip, not 1/16.

I will post a link in this thread to an order page for the sets I get out of this roll. I do already have another order on the way, I staggered it so that I did not have as much money out at once.
As long as folks follow the instructions on the "order page" I have made, it should go quite smoothly.

Not familiar with the product, JCwhitney rarely has anything that actually fits a 60! I'll look for it on the web, if its any good I'll bet it is made by the same folks.

I re-checked your site - nice product! Am I reading the pics right - you're showing the weatherstripping at the body, right? I'm looking for the weatherstripping that's attached to the door.

Here's the JCWhitney link: HST MATERIALS STICK ON REPLACEMENT SPONGE RUBBER WEATHERSTRIPPING - JCWhitney Auto Parts

Trouble is that it's stick on rather than the pegs, and I don't even know if it's the right size . Anyway, I'm sure I'll be checking out your gasket next! Thanks.

Ahh, that makes more sense, I was looking at the site trying to figure out what the hell you were talking about!

So anyway, I have the first roll ready to go, and something set up on the site so people can put their names down, it is not the simplest, but it was the best I could finagle out of the program. You can go here and put your name down (don't forget to send the paypal :grinpimp:) Or you can just go to wagongear.com and follow the weatherstrip links.

For anyone who is wondering, and so that everything is above board:

The material is from Trim-Lok, marine grade hatch seal, the best out there.
Part # 12B100B3X3/16A

The cost of the weatherstrip, per foot, to your door, reads out as such:

Material -1.608'
Handling -0.016'
Shipping (to you) -0.23'
Shipping (to me) -0.16'
PayPal fees -.065'

That equals $83.16 in actual cost for 40' of weatherstrip.
For simplicities sake, and to make sure any incidentals are covered, I am charging $90.00 for each set.
That means I am making a "profit" :grinpimp: of $6.84 on each set.

11.17.08- Wanted to update this old post.
Everything has slowly been going up, so I had to adjust the price.

The material is now 1.75'
The shipping out to you is now 0.25'
And the paypal is now 0.075'

Minor changes but I have had to bump the price up to $95, and they tell me that the price of the weatherstrip will be going up again.

Kevin - put me down for a set as well, please!

Got mine yesterday as well and got three of the four doors in. Haven't taken it for a spin yet, but the quality seems real good. Props to Kevin for taking on the task and being so diligent about it - especially since he's not doing it for money. Hopefully cruiser Karma repays him.

I really have to slam the doors to get them shut. Unfortunately, one of the screws on my drivers side door latch is stuck so I can't re-adjust it. Hopefully, as the weatherstrip compresses, it will get easier to shut.

I'm not sure if it is a 60 thing or if my old weatherstrip was aftermarket or if I just misunderstood the whole idea, but I had no seal whatsoever on the trim. So this is like a redundant seal as the outer OEM weatherstrip is still used. Great idea.
Edit - Just re-read the thread and realized that 60's did not have the welting on the inner weatherstrip, so I guess mine was OEM (just useless!)

I can't wait to try it out and see how well it works.

Cool, that seems to be working.
Umm, but whoever "anonymous" is, make sure that name matches your paypal. :grinpimp:

edit- Just checking my email, would that be you Rob?

Yeap, that's me. I'm paypal challenged!!

Stripping came in the mail Saturday. Will probably go in next week. The package doesn't look big enough for a tailgate kit . . .:crybaby:

Got my stuff today !!!

Thanks Kev...
Sweet!

takeitforgranite Kevin - put me down for a set as well, please!
You have to put yourself down! :hillbilly: Hopefully the next roll will be here this week, but I doubt I will get to it until the weekend. Keep an eye on this thread for the next available batch.

Yup, you gota get the latch out a bit, slamming the doors is a pain. Make sure you are using a large flat tip philips head for the screws and put the bit in a 1/4' socket on a ratchet handle to give you the extra leverage.

Rob Faucett Stripping came in the mail Saturday. Will probably go in next week. The package doesn't look big enough for a tailgate kit . . .
I was looking at the tailgate stuff again today, after you all started complaining I noticed that mine was not actually tip top either.....

Got the next roll divided up today, 5 more spots are available on the site.

Almost got screwed on this roll, look how much was left over.

Think I finally have the parts sorted out to upgrade the gate opening, this thing is gona be SWEEEET. :D
Got the right combo for the overall opening, you can see the sample in the first pic, the welt is much larger diameter, but much softer so there is more contact area.
Not only that, but I noticed the edge of the tailgate and got to thinking, If I take a piece of the door weather-strip and put it along the top of the tailgate lip. I get an edge protector for the paint, the welt pushes against the old rubber welt on the bottom of the lift gate, AND it acts like a padded grip when closing the tailgate! Holy crap that is cool.
And the best part is that it completely negates the classic lift gate rattle that EVERY 60/62 I have been in has, I have tried to fix that for years, whala!
Then I got to thinking even more, and noticed that I could replace the ugly, dirty edge trim on the end of the head liner with a welted strip and suddenly get a clean trim piece and a double seal at the top where water always seems to creep in.
We are gona be giving the hundys a run for their money in the interior trim department.
Tailgate trim will be on order in the morning!
