door opens wider

so i was just getting into the garage and i forgot to put down the antenna,so i put the gear on neatrual and pulled the e-brake for a click, and as i steped down of the car, it was going to the back as the door was streching through the garage wall, i was so lucking that i responded fast and jump to pull the e-brake before the door breaks! i heard a metal sound as it was happening it was like the hinges were tensioned, now i noticed the door opens wider than before and when i close it i feel the the door is a bit off! how can i fix this?

Sounds like you bent the hinges.

I did that one time, and I tried to swing the door back in, edge of car door, pointer finger and garage door jamb all met in the same place, same time. I bent the hinges, broke the finger, jamb was fine. Hinges will be cheaper than surgery, body shop cheaper than hospital. Take it to a body shop for a look-see!

Does the door close normally and fit well? You might have damaged the limiting strap on the door. Turns out that the LC that I just bought had the limiting strap pulled completely out of the door and the sheet metal around it was ripped. Not sure how you could do that, but my PO did. If you broke the strap, don't get one from the dealer. I think they were $145.
