Door latch connector on Body

I have a stripped nut / connector where the door latch attaches to the frame. There are 2 bolts that attach the latch for the hard and soft doors. The threads where one of the bolts attach is stripped, so only one bolt is holding the door latch.

My Question:

Has anyone ever had to repair threads in the door frame? There is no place to access it unless I drill a hole in the back of the door frame, and use a bolt and nut. (Yuck)
