door fitment- easy one

Hi ,

I have a 76 FJ40 and in the purchase of the vehicle appear to have been given early model doors (with the grab with the palm of your hand handle). Will this fit my vehicle if I change out the strikers (definitely doesn't mate up to the striker now).

i think they will fit or at least the lower half will. my 76 has half doors from an early model (around 1970 i think) and they fit with the old striker mounted as far out as you can get them. i am just not sure about the top of the door frame since i dont have them. good luck!

Pretty sure they will be fine as long as you get the striker situation fixed. I am in the process of putting 1974 doors on my 1978 now. I have the striker working great for now.

I tried them out before buying them and they fit fine at the top.

I have half doors off a 72 on my 78 in the warmer months. Just had to drill a couple of holes a bit further out board to mount the striker so that they work right.
