I certainly prefer my 200 over the 250 for a lot of reasons. But that doesn’t mean the 250 is bad. There are very few, if any, new trucks I would buy ahead of a 250 (particularly a GX550 OT) if I were buying new (and had any disposable income left to spend!). Definitely not a bronco, jeep, or Land Rover. Maybe Ineos Grenadier. That’s about it.
The fact that I tow a trailer means the Bronco, Wrangler, LC250 are off the table.

The Ineos, GX, LX and 200 are really the only options unless I wanna move up to a full-size suv.

A power inverter doesn't define a vehicle. Land Cruiser 70 was made in Japan, Brazil and Spain. Land Cruiser 80/100 came in both part time and Full Time 4wd.

pats back Relax, bud, we’re on the same team. Land Cruiser brother. 🍻

Sure, you can be my Land Cruiser Step-Brother.:cheers:
Haha, alright step brother. Not quite the same looking as your luxury station wagon, but hey still built by the exact same factory workers and with the same quality materials just not carrying as much ahem big bones. But hey, we're both part of the family! 🍻

I happen to like station wagons. And sure, weight negatively affects off-road performance but most heavier duty vehicles are....well... heavy.

I don’t want this to come off the wrong way, but… I gotta admit, I do like your tailgate.

for these instagrammers it does

so they can plug in their $7,000 coffee machine and their $5,000 RTT and take a pic and show their friends how “outdoorsy” they are in their fake lc
Oh my god, a real one… A true believer that the 250 isn’t a Land Cruiser! I’ve heard legends of your kind, but I’ve never met one in the wild. Come closer, don’t be afraid. I am but a humble 250 Series owner I come in peace. I’m not here to rob you of your precious Land Cruiser name. But in my world, there’s this company called Toyotaa, and they’ve made three types of Land Cruiserz a station wagon, a practical one and a heavy duty one. I don’t know what dimension you’ve arrived from, but here on Earth, all three are very real Land Cruisers.

Yep, 250 is a LC PRADO. The other day getting some oil filters at Toyota I sat in one and felt the doors and materials. Seems a poor follow up of the 150 series, certainly the GX460 was more in many ways. It feels flimsy like a RAV4. Do not know why you we would want one. This pretty much sums it up

trust me its not me…

they barely let me around here. I am a 08 owner. 200 owners spit on me as they walk by with their oem tint, hid, and big brakes

i am known as mr. highlander

also i do not live on earth - i live in a planet where we own 40,60,62,100 and cruisers are in our blood

Haha, wow, that’s a lot to unpack. So you’re saying the 250 is an LC Prado? Hate to break it to you, but thaaaaat’s a Land Cruiser, bud. And your big 'review' comes from sitting in one while grabbing oil filters? Feels like a RAV4? Alright, man. Anyway, yeah, it’s one of the three types of Land Cruisers. Honestly, compared to the 200, I think the interior materials feel better, but hey, that’s just my take. The fact is, it’s still a REAL Land Cruiser, no matter what either of us thinks... but I’ll respectfully step away from this subforum for now. I got excited when someone said, 'I love ALL the Land Cruiser models!' so I posted an image of all three types with the message, ‘One for all and all for one.’ But I guess that sense of camaraderie isn’t shared by some 200 Series owners. No, no these are the real Land Cruisers, right? Sounds a bit arrogant and ignorant to me, but very well. Not saying it’s all of you, but the 200 Series has cursed many of its owners… and at this rate, the cursed ones may never be happy in another Cruiser again. Guess they’ll have to keep the machine spirit alive in the 200 forever and ever. Cheers! 🍻

Well said. I love them all. I like mine the best but they are all great. Enjoy your badass truck!

At this rate, I do plan on scooping up another 200 when the opportunity presents itself.

The value in a lightly used 200 is much better than a new 250.

I gave the 250 a real chance and it’s not even worth considering one when you can buy a 200 for the same price. Toyota went too far on the cost cutting and nanny tools in the 250 to make it an enjoyable experience. And that’s not to be a pompous comment when you can spend the same amount of money on a lightly used 200.

I’m just bummed the 250 is our only new land cruiser option and we went from greatness to mediocrity. (Just like many aspects of life post covid)

The Land Cruiser name is no longer special here in the States and held to its high (no compromise) standards that were built for many decades.
