If Toyota just put the V35A in the 250 I think it would be a lot easier to appreciate it for what it is. The V8 to turbo 4 was obviously a mechanical neutering, but even more than that it was a psychological neutering - (it being a hybrid doesn't help with the latter either). It's difficult to accept that a Land Cruiser is using the same engine as a Highlander or the even smaller Lexus NX which is a compact unibody crossover.

And these are all REAL Broncos.

😆...I went to a small overland expo this past weekend. They had a trail and obstacle course you could do, so I signed up.
After the trail ride, I scouted the obstacle course. I watched a woman in a 4 dr bronco high point herself 3 times in a row on a hill holding the line up. She had to be pulled off all 3 times . I don't know what she was thinking holding everybody up like that. If I was in line at the time, I would have been irritated. Ok you tried, got stuck then had to be pulled off. Kudos for the effort. You then gave it a go again and the same thing happened. What makes you do it again a 3rd time when people are waiting for you? Crazy.

It wasn't a Badlands or any of the similar beefier models, so it's clearance was not that great. Good times. The LX didn't break a sweat.

Haha, wow, that’s a lot to unpack. So you’re saying the 250 is an LC Prado? Hate to break it to you, but thaaaaat’s a Land Cruiser, bud. And your big 'review' comes from sitting in one while grabbing oil filters? Feels like a RAV4? Alright, man. Anyway, yeah, it’s one of the three types of Land Cruisers. Honestly, compared to the 200, I think the interior materials feel better, but hey, that’s just my take. The fact is, it’s still a REAL Land Cruiser, no matter what either of us thinks... but I’ll respectfully step away from this subforum for now. I got excited when someone said, 'I love ALL the Land Cruiser models!' so I posted an image of all three types with the message, ‘One for all and all for one.’ But I guess that sense of camaraderie isn’t shared by some 200 Series owners. No, no these are the real Land Cruisers, right? Sounds a bit arrogant and ignorant to me, but very well. Not saying it’s all of you, but the 200 Series has cursed many of its owners… and at this rate, the cursed ones may never be happy in another Cruiser again. Guess they’ll have to keep the machine spirit alive in the 200 forever and ever. Cheers! 🍻
Well, you never going to convince me. It is a follow up of the 150 aka the LC Prado range.

It looks cheap and it feels cheap and is certainly not the return of the legendary Land Cruiser.

At least Ford had decades between the original Bronco and the new one. There is enough choice and advancement not to throw up all over it, although I do not like the styling and nor the 250. It looks like a Jeep Liberty sadly enough.

you see all the motor replacements of the v6 TT?

At this rate, I do plan on scooping up another 200 when the opportunity presents itself.

The value in a lightly used 200 is much better than a new 250.

I gave the 250 a real chance and it’s not even worth considering one when you can buy a 200 for the same price. Toyota went too far on the cost cutting and nanny tools in the 250 to make it an enjoyable experience. And that’s not to be a pompous comment when you can spend the same amount of money on a lightly used 200.
smart man!!!

sounds like that woman resembles a 250 owner

save your throw up for somthing more worthy

Honestly baffling. 250 is number two, though with the exact same 9.5 rating. Link

Yes, it is a Prado, but some people that bought into Toyota's marketing fantasy have a bit of trouble to accept that. This is a troll that just joined mud (probably after ordering his 250) and that needs to convince himself over and over again by coming to the forums and defending his Prado purchase at his wit's end. Oh, and sometimes he also uses AI to up his trolling of people like you that disagree with his arguments too. Just a real peach.

Do you seriously think I bought my Land Cruiser thinking it’s just a station wagon, you little troll? I pitted the 250 against the 200 Series before pulling the trigger jumped through the 200’s exit wound and chose the 250 after getting a deep look into the 200. The only things I prefer on the 200 are the tailgate and regular fuel. I don’t care for the V8 I’m not towing anything. I'm sure the 4banger will prove just as reliable over time. As of now everything else on the 250 for my usage massacres the 200 Station Wagon.

Furthermore, there's another forum that's thriving with 250 owners, free from trolls like you. But I prefer IH8Mud until you jumped into the 250's subforum trolling folks and trying to talk down to them, Then you met me, the troll slayer.

It goes without saying that those who chose the 200 prefer the 200 and those that chose the 250 prefer the 250. I chose the 200 and I think I made the best choice. But I don’t think we need to make people feel bad about the choices that they made. I choose to focus on What we have in common, which is a love for trucks that enable off-road adventures, connecting with nature, quality time with family and loved ones. All that chose the 200 and the 250 share that in common. While I believe that the 200 is more of a “real” land cruiser than the 250, I think the 250 has the spirit of the Land Cruiser as well, even if it lacks some of the qualities that I personally admire most about land cruisers.

I have nothing against the LC250, Land Cruiser, Prado, whatever you want to call it. Actually, I really like them including the GX470, GX460, 4Runner. They all have a place. For the right individual, including yourself, may be a more perfect choice.

Don't get deluded that they are all the same however. For those of us that have different requirements and needs, the new "Land Cruiser" is not the same vehicle as before. It will come up short if that's the expectation. That's just a fact and shouldn't even be a surprise based on the price class of the vehicle. You shouldn't be offended.

Go enjoy your LC250.

The entire list is nonsensical to me. They claim that the score is based on "acceleration, handling, comfort, cargo space, fuel efficiency, value, and how enjoyable they are to drive." None of the BOF midsize 2 row suvs should perform well in any of those categories other than maybe enjoyable to drive. The bronco has terrible acceleration, handling, comfort, cargo space, fuel efficiency, and value*. Compared to any midsize crossover, the bronco or the LC/4R shouldn't be anywhere near the top of that list. If the list is really just "cars we think are cool" - then maybe just say it that way.

* (at msrp - not sure what that's based on. Bronco raptors are now $25k under MSRP as a standard pricing at dealers. At $70k maybe it is a good value. A $55k new Bronco Everglades seems like a good value as well. Not so much at MSRP.)

I was going to mention the bronco's being cheaper. $25k UNDER msrp is nuts! Maybe that (and ad revenue) is what gave it the number 1 spot?
